Workshop Manager

We are looking for qualified candidate to fill the following position:

Workshop Manager

Reports to : Project Director, Indonesia investment project

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

At project phase to be part of the project team for building the service center

Working for the project as local connection to the authorities

Provides the connection to local suppliers needed in the project

Local sourcing for the workshop machinery

Participates for the selection of local staff for the workshop

Participates in the planning and organizing the training with the area organization

At the workshop operations phase to the head for the workshop operations

Plan, manage, co-ordinate and monitor all activities related to production, scheduling, shop planning, purchasing and services to achieve the Company's goals for the customers' satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

Plan, organize and control workshop operations, in accordance with guidelines established by management, to ensure that objectives and targets are achieved.

Develop weekly, monthly and annual production plans to ensure on-time deliveries through optimum resource allocation.

Maintain close surveillance over operations to ensure compliance with scheduled work, proper use of manpower, skills, equipment and facilities, proper application of methods, and related matters.

Communicate and interact with other departments to meet production schedules and assist in meeting cost reduction and quality improvement objectives.

Provide advice on production methods, work practices, shop layout and necessary equipment to improve productivity.

Maintain the plant in satisfactory working order by following effective maintenance programs.

Liaison with customers when required to ensure that they are satisfied with the quality and delivery committed.

Develop, train, and motivate employees to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation and morale.

Provide instructions, guidance and directions to assist employees having operating difficulties and procedural problems.

Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to.

Ensure that all company procedures and policies are adhered to.

Provide regular performance reports to management.

Assist in estimating when required, forecasting of labour requirements in particular.

Participate in management and shop floor meetings relating to planning, production and other work related issues.

Approve workshop staff travelling expenses.

Advise management on training needs of employees and assist in training.

Perform other tasks assigned by management.

ORGANISATION RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Project Director, it is part of the SEA service operations and interacts with other departments like sales and customer support.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering field, preferable in Mechanical Engineering.

At least 5 years experiences in pulp and paper industry or paper mill.

Good command spoken and written English.

Experience in leading people

Computer literacy in MS office and other related computer program
